




The Medical Materiel and Dental sets required are in a training configuration and will be selected from the RTS- MED equipment request form. All Medical Materiel and Dental sets issued to the unit are considered unit property and as such the unit is responsible for cleanliness, maintenance/repair and accountability. The unit advance party will do the final coordination with the EMS /Supply Lead for all MMS 's and CTA equipment. Individual Hand Receipts will be prepared for all supplies and equipment in MMS ’s to the hand receipt holders identified by the Unit Material Health Material Service Officer (S-4).
1. ISSUE
a. The unit Health Material Service Officer must provide the RTS- MED logistics section with a DA Form 1687, Notice of Delegation of Authority-Receipt for Supplies for the individual hand receipt holders.
b. All Medical Materiel sets will be issued with non-expendable, expendable and durable components. This equipment will be issued on the TAMMIS generated hand receipt or DA Form 2062. All small expendable/durable items will be placed in the medical chest provided according to the packing list on each chest. The equipment will be inventoried and signed for by the individual listed as the hand receipt holder on the DA Form 1687.
c. All CTA type equipment will be issued from the RTS- MED warehouse Bldg 10000.
d. Once the MMS 's have been issued to the sub hand receipt holder, copies of those hand receipts will be provided to the Unit Health Material Service Officer.
2. MAINTENANCE
a. Cleanliness and organizational maintenance/repair is the responsibility of the unit during training.
3. TURN IN
a. All MMS sets and CTA equipment will be cleaned and serviceable prior to inventory and turn in. If the equipment is not serviceable a DA Form 2404 will accompany the equipment explaining the condition/deficiency.
b. An RTS- MED representative will conduct a joint inventory of all MMS equipment at the field site and CTA equipment at the warehouse with the unit hand receipt holder. Discrepancies will be brought to the attention of the Lead Supply Technician and the unit Health Material Service Officer.
c. Once the equipment has been accepted by RTS- MED , the Supply Lead or his/her representative will clear the unit hand receipt.
4. CLASS VIII Medical Supplies
Issue
a. MMS ’s will be issued with class VIII medical supplies. A representative one day supply is packed in the MMS and a representative three day supply is in the Medical Supply MMS .
b. Once the unit TAMMIS computer is up and running, the unit medical supply section and the MEDLOG will communicate with each other, either through paper, disk or through automated computer network.
c. The unit medical supply section will pick up their class VIII supplies from the MEDLOG and take them back to their supply section, separate and distribute the class VIII supplies as required.
d. To restock class VIII supplies each section OIC/NCOIC will submit a request to their Medical Supply Section who will submit another order through the MEDLOG.
e. The MEDLOG will request class VIII through the RTS- MED Supply Section.
TURN-IN
a. Prior to the end of the exercise, each individual section will ensure all class VIII supplies have been restocked and the set is ready for inventory.
b. The unit medical supply section will insure that all class VIII supplies in MMS ’s have been reconstituted and any excess supplies are turned in to the MEDLOG.
